My Humble Bathroom

Hello everyone! As always its been a while - I need to post a recap post after this. I wanted to post pictures of my bathroom.


When I moved in, it was very drab and depressing. Something had to be done! I'm a big believer that your home surrounding should be magical, peaceful, artistic, full of love - YOU! For your home is where your heart is, created memories and your sanity. If my home is off, then so is my mind.


So I took this bathroom and turned it around. Mind you that you don't have to have a lot of money and talent to do so. A lot of bargains can be found and simple updates such as new paint, new light switch covers, toilet paper holder and so on can make BIG improvements for only dollars.

I've been sooo busy, working on items for my Etsy shop to come, here are a few sneak peeks ....

Chimes of Spoons & Forks

The other night, I had a dream that I moved into a gigantic, old, worn out Victorian house where the rooms never stop appearing. I see so much details in my dreams and in this house I looked up and saw it shimmer - a big chandelier made of spoons. I had to make it, or a smaller scale of it, so I made this flatware wind-chime to remind me - you can live in your Dreams. Click on "Read More" on how I made it.

Pretty in French Pink

Easter is getting close and all the pretty pastel bunny colors are in the show - reminding me of this French Provincial dresser and night stand I did for Bella, with her help of course! AND can you believe I got this set for FREE through Freecycle! Actually, I have gotten many awesome items from Freecycle and every city has one, even a few Freescycle groups you can join - just check out the link I provided. I also Freecycle everything I don't want or need any longer to keep the give and take dynamic going ;)

Shabby Antique

It's so nice out today which reminds me on how much I like to spend outdoors in it - before it get's too hot! Besides gardening, I like to refinishes furniture and such. A couple years back I did a few pieces I would like to share with you!

Here we have a bed giving to me by my great grandmother that was in storage for over 20 years. I decided to shabby it up for my daughter. Click on the video to my YouTube page for step by step directions and products used. I will post a few more of my work in the weeks to come ;)

To Keep - My Claudia

My Claudia, her ashes and memorial/mourning locket to keep forever. Her memorial necklace I made from a vintage Sterling & Garnet Marcasite locket in which I used melted wax from her memorial candle, her fur and some rose petals. It's a lovely way to keep your spirits together whenever you need them in remembrance.

Bella's Halloween Dresses

When my daughter was born, I told her that each Halloween, I would make her a Halloween Dress for as long as she wants me too! I wanted to also have a special keepsake for her to have and save, something from me - made by me. Now we have 5 Halloween dresses, 1 skirt and 1 extra dress. 7 in all! I love Flying Fox Bats! I sooo wish I could foster these beauties - but we don't have them here where I live.

I can enjoy numerous sites ( http://www.bats.org.au/ ) - ( Gilbert the Bat ) documenting their kindness in saving these creatures of the night! On this Batober month, please donate if you can, to help these non government funded volunteers to save the beautiful Flying Fox!

On celebrating Batober and Halloween, today I made this Flying Fox Bat necklace for me to wear close to my heart <3

Black Wreaths

I have a fascination with wreaths and the history of them. It's delightful to take a stroll (any day of the year) and see these beauties hanging in glory on the doors as I walk by. A few years back I made this Halloween wreath, however it got lost during my most recent move. I was soooooo bummed out. No way can I find another awesome skull spider like that again, as I have searched. ;(

These wreaths are so easy to make so today I made a new one for this year's Halloween ;) A bit different than the one before.

I get my supplies at Michael's - one vine wreath (I spay pained it black), black leaf garland and you will find random Halloween findings and flowers topped with ribbons of choice - then you put it all together to your liking's. That's it!
