Went to Brenham, Texas with my mom today to enjoy some antique shopping, Herman's, Funky Art Cafe and some Blue Bell ice cream at the Blue Bell Factory - Ha, I have to admit it felt like I was in grade school going on a field trip! We weren't allowed to take photos of the actual factory with all the ice cream rolling down the conveyor belt but I did get this paper hat so, I'm okay now!

Ghost in the Attic
A hauntly trip to The Shabby Rose in Old Town Spring.
I especially like the pale finds in the attic, I can only wonder of ghostly tea parties that must take place at midnight. Such a must store to visit!

Pretty in French Pink
Easter is getting close and all the pretty pastel bunny colors are in the show - reminding me of this French Provincial dresser and night stand I did for Bella, with her help of course! AND can you believe I got this set for FREE through Freecycle! Actually, I have gotten many awesome items from Freecycle and every city has one, even a few Freescycle groups you can join - just check out the link I provided. I also Freecycle everything I don't want or need any longer to keep the give and take dynamic going ;)

Spoon Ring of Roses
Sometimes I just get a thought stuck into my head and just like that I wanted a spoon ring. It is said that during the 17th century England, servants would steal silver flatware from their employer and crafted them into wedding bands for their beloved. Such an act of love from beautifully carved spoons indeed make lovely symbols of commitment for richer or in this case, the poor. In the 60's, these sweet rings made their rounds again but this time for fashionable old world reasons as oppose to the poor man's ring.
Of course I got one with roses from The Plantation pattern flatware originally from 1881 and reproduced, as in this ring, in 1948 from Dzines Laura. Their are many gorgeous patterns you will come across from antique, vintage and new - I may have to get a few.

Heart Shaped Box
I have a sweet confession, I would love to collect vintage Valentine Candy Boxes. I still remember my dad and grandfather bringing home big lacey eye candy love boxes home for my mom and grandmother. I don't know which was better, the inside or the outside! It was all enticing to me. Throughout history, chocolate has been used as an elixir of love. I myself luv, luv, luv chocolate like some people love their morning coffee! In 1886 Richard Cadbury of Cadbury Cocoa & Chocolate Company introduced the first box of chocolates for gifting. It was the Victorian era responsible for frilling up these heart shape boxes of delights as well as the sharing of Valentine cards.
Here are a few vintage fancy Valentine boxes - I really want one with a doll on it, how cute! I wish they still made these like this. Maybe next year I can make a few pretties like these. Be sure to click Read More for more pics!

Toys & Books - To Scare You With My Dear
I use to be a huge toy collector as well as Occult books. Over the years I've had to slim down my collection to the items that mean most to me. Here are a few pictures of my collection - again, the colors of some images are distorted for some reason when I upload them on to Blogger ??? Oh well, at least it looks more creepy!
This is a coffin shelf I designed and made with my grandfather in 1994. I shall keep it forever because if that. Click on Read More ...

Finding Treasures
I love just browsing around, admiring what's out there, learning about history/future and just being with friends & family in many different atmospheres. I find it to be very therapeutic as well as an easy getaway that could be just across the road!
These finds are from my local Heights 19th Street.
