Galveston Home Tour Part 2, 2014

I cannot even begin to tell you how beautiful this home was inside, sigh...

Wood floors, tall ceilings, grand triple staircase, to the floor windows, fireplaces and all the antique Victorian furniture and painting. It also had a Asian decorated room, which in most of my previous tours has discovered that most Victorian homes had Asian Victorian décor. This home also had huge bedrooms with antique beds, long laced curtains, extravagant fixtures, bay windows to look out of while you bathed in the claw foot bath tubs while the fire is burning in the fireplaces - yes, in the bedrooms! The kitchen was breathtaking. High end, up to date appliances dance smoothly with the tradition Victorian stained glass and cabinetry next to a sitting room overlooking the French doors to the lush back yard. And to think that these kind of houses are everywhere in this historic area of Galveston that are mostly used as "vacation homes"! I dream of the day that I could own one of these beauties - hopefully, but until then I will always treasure the home tours, even if it's all I'm going to have.
